Brighton Beach, Melbourne
No, not a fisheye (most people think it is). I shot it with a wide angle lens, portrait orientation, 10 or 12 shots left to right like a panorama and stitched them together in photoshop. That gave me the bulging effect then I cropped it to a 1:1.5 ratio. If I’d just shot it straight on you’d see a lot of sky, a lot of sand and a small strip of beach huts in the middle (unless I got real close then you’d see less huts). I wanted to fill the frame with the huts and also make a fairly plain shot a bit more interesting. By the way, these little huts sell for around $250,000. Each.
