St Basil's Cathedral. Shot this while I was on the 'Covered in Scaffold' trip. Everywhere I went - Russia, Europe, Asia - every iconic landmark, which is to say, every major photo opportunity, was either under repair and covered in scaffold, being renovated and wrapped up in protective coverings or completely blocked off from the general public for some unknown reason. Or, after a while, they just heard I was coming and covered everything in scaffold to piss me off. The Spanish steps in Rome? Rialto Bridge in Venice? The Louvre in Paris? Yep, and a dozen more. Add to that, Red Square, right here next to St Basil's, was still covered in seating (made from scaffold) because they'd just had some kind of parade through the square and I couldn't get a decent shot. St Basil's, though, was one of the few not covered in anything. By the way, St Basil's? I hear Basil and I think Fawlty.
