This one, as many would already know from having taken the same shot, was from 'Top of the Rock', which is the observation deck at 30 Rockefeller Plaza, (also where the Tina Fey sitcom '30 Rock' was shot). Every observation deck / sky deck / viewing platform in the world should copy 30 Rock in one particular way and cut holes in the glass so you can stick a camera lens through. It makes a huge difference. I'm sure it's easier to do here because it's an outdoor deck with glass surrounds and it's not the windows of an enclosed space, but surely there's a way. Reflections are the reason. That and the glass you're shooting through isn't made for photography so the quality of the shot drops. Being able to shoot unobstructed is an absolute bonus.
