Flinders Ranges, South Australia
This is one of my favourite wildlife shots. It was a dull, overcast morning in the Flinders Ranges (where’d I love to spend more time shooting) and I was coming from Wilpena Pound and he was sitting by the side of the road with his mum. I always have the camera ready on the seat next to me so I picked it up and lowered the window while I slowed down so as not to waste a second. I stopped the car and took a few shots of them through the window then snapped this one as they hopped away. It’s moody, it’s grey and it’s a shot I felt lucky to get because with that light I wasn’t really expecting to get much of anything.
