Presgrave Place, Melbourne
I’ve always liked this little back alley. Small, L shaped and cluttered with garbage bins, it runs off Howey Place which is tucked in behind the Manchester Unity building on Swanston Street. I tried shooting it a few different times but never got anything worth printing. Then one day when I was out and about and walking past I saw this little scene and thought 'that looks good' so I asked the guy if I could take a quick shot and he reluctantly said yes. The scene is exactly how I saw it, it’s not set up and I didn’t ask him to pose. Just right place, right time. The black & white version is here.
