I’d been driving all day in outback Queensland, no fixed destination in mind when I saw this little pub all by itself in the middle of nowhere (turned out to be the most isolated pub in the state). I stopped to check it out and, six hours and more than a few beers later, I’m at the bar with Lee, a ringer from a cattle station down the road, when he starts to roll a smoke. I pick my camera up off the bar, shoot three frames and open another beer. He had some great tales to tell but in the end his hands told the best story. To give you an idea of the general surroundings, this is on the other side of the road.
