Royal Arcade, Melbourne
It was early morning, if you’re wondering how I got this shot without any people in it. I had to shift a few things first - a cleaners mop and bucket, a couple of tables - then I set up the tripod and got the camera ready. Just as I was about to take the shot a woman walked past me heading down towards Little Collins St. It’s a long arcade so I had to wait a while for her to disappear down the other end. Just as she walked out of frame someone else entered walking towards me. Then a minute later, someone else. This went on for so long I was about to ditch it and try again another day. Eventually I had time for a five shot bracket (so I could blend some of the highlights and shadows) and, happy enough, went off for brekkie.
