It may not look it, but it was freezing. The water is snow melt, it was early in the morning and I’d stopped feeling my fingers an hour ago. I’d attempted this shot before but wasn’t happy with the result so I was back for another go. This time I wanted to get the camera as close to the water as possible so, instead of standing the tripod on the bridge like before, I held it upside down, dangling the camera over the water. The problem was two-fold; keeping it steady enough for a long exposure and not dropping $6,000 into the creek because my fingers were like frozen bananas.
