Collection: Kim Balmain
Kim's introduction into tonal realistic art began at an early age due to artistic parents, and her professional career started when she joined the family studio in a teaching capacity. After many years working between Melbourne and Sydney she moved to the Wimmera in 2015, opening a teaching studio.
Kim paints in a range of styles from traditional to modernistic, both for fun and to emphasize the importance of tonal structure and understanding as the basis for any art.
The prints in this section are reproductions of original paintings by artist Kim Balmain. I've photographed her paintings and printed them on canvas under her direction and approval.
All these prints have a mirror wrap edge (not shown on the image) which means that, when it's stretched onto a frame, the image appears to continue around the side of the frame but it's actually a copy of the image, as if the image were held against a mirror. This way none of the image is 'lost' around the side.
When ordering through the website the print is delivered rolled in a tube but if you can get to Dimboola for pickup, I can make one for you that's stretched on a frame and ready to hang.
